Yes. Both individual and team registration are supported. Team size limits follow the official rules.
Yes. GOAI is open to global developers, and key information is provided in both Chinese and English.
Finalist teams are expected to join the onsite finals in Hangzhou on September 22-23. Special arrangements for overseas teams will follow committee rules.
Yes, as long as usage, dependency boundaries and open-source parts are clearly explained. Reviewers will focus on innovation, open-source contribution, reproducibility and real value.
GOAI encourages teams to open code, models, tools, data-processing workflows and documentation as much as possible. Teams should clearly disclose licenses, third-party dependencies and IP boundaries.

All prize amounts are pre-tax and will be denominated and paid in Renminbi (RMB).Prizes are paid per official rules; winners must complete identity verification, agreement signing and financial procedures.
All cash prizes in the GOAI Challenge are denominated and paid in Renminbi (CNY). Overseas winning teams are required to provide an eligible recipient, valid bank account information, and any supporting documents requested by the Organizing Committee. Applicable taxes, bank charges, and currency conversion arrangements will be handled in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and the rules of the financial institutions involved.

Four-track champions compete for the Grand Prize
The competition sets a RMB 5 million cash prize pool, with the Grand Prize awarding up to RMB 1 million
This competition offers the GOAI Grand Prize (1 winner) of RMB 1 million; track champions: up to RMB 500,000; track runners-up: up to RMB 300,000; track third-place winners: up to RMB 100,000; plus several individual awards with a total budget of RMB 400,000.
Each track will provide Token support or equivalent gift packs to help teams develop and iterate
Based on need, each track will provide Token, compute power, and other development resource subsidies or equivalent packages to teams that complete their preliminary work submission and pass the project validity review. Outstanding enterprises and entities that locate in Xihu District can apply for subsidies of up to 1 million RMB for cloud computing and model services.
Receive in-depth guidance from experts and scholars—from technical roadmap and product design to presentation of results
Participants will have the opportunity to receive in-depth mentoring from leading open-source experts and scholars from China and abroad. Outstanding project outcomes may receive priority recommendation for publication in high-level academic journals such as AI Plus.
Provide neutral open-source project hosting and governance support to connect teams with communities, developers, and ecosystem partners
The Foundation will provide neutral hosting services for underlying open-source projects of industry-infrastructure value. Once award-winning projects are admitted to the Foundation's incubation program, they will receive professional, non-profit support, including neutral legal assistance, intellectual property (IP) compliance review, and global community governance to safeguard the healthy and sustainable development of quality open-source projects.
Connect participants with corporate recruitment, internship, and technical exchange opportunities to bring more industry attention to outstanding contestants and projects
Participants can enjoy fast-track access to dedicated corporate recruitment events and receive priority recommendations for various employment and internship opportunities. Meanwhile, award winners will be invited to major Chinese AI events, including the Apsara Conference, offering exclusive opportunities to network with industry leaders.
Outstanding projects may be validated in real Hangzhou scenarios, with dedicated scenario managers helping connect demand-side partners and application resources
Outstanding competition projects will be selected for inclusion in Hangzhou's scenario opportunities list and invited to scenario matchmaking events on a priority basis. For award-winning projects that land locally, dedicated matchmaking sessions will be organized, with scenario managers assigned to assist with deployment and provide diversified career and employment channels for the competition's talent.

The competition provides financial support for award-winning projects that land locally, with up to a million RMB in startup capital depending on the award tier. These projects will also receive priority recommendations and declarations for related support plans; upon selection, they can receive up to 10 million RMB in additional startup funding, along with a comprehensive support package covering office space, loans, housing, and more.
Connect with 30+ investment institutions and RMB 30 billion-scale VC resources; outstanding projects receive priority access to Hangzhou Innovation Camp
Competition projects will have the opportunity to gain attention and support from over 30 investment institutions, 30 startup mentors, and venture capital firms with over RMB 30 billion under management. Award-winning projects will receive priority admission to the Hangzhou Innovation Camp to fully connect with key startup resources and receive precise empowerment, vertical incubation, and full-cycle support.
Provide advisory support for team landing, company setup, and day-to-day operations to reduce friction from tech validation to formal launch
For teams looking to establish themselves in Hangzhou, we provide advisor-level guidance and end-to-end service guarantees covering business registration, policy applications, and tax procedures. Award-winning projects registered in Hangzhou may be included in the "seed" enterprise pool and, when eligible, prioritized for high-tech enterprise cultivation.
Eligible landing teams may receive office space and startup workspace support to start local collaboration and project development faster
Projects participating in the competition that land locally can enjoy preferential fee support for key operational milestones during their early startup phase upon evaluation and approval. Award-winning landing projects may receive up to a million-RMB-level special subsidies for entrepreneurship environment optimization upon review and approval.
